He was the eighth of the Ten humans set up Gurus of Sikhism. Har Krishan Ji was a son of the seventh Guru, Mata Krishan Kaur and Guru Har Rai Sahib. As passed down in 1661, Guru Har Rai had announced that his youngest son Har Krishan, should be the next Sikh Guru. Thus, he climb up to the royal seat of Guruship on 20 October 1661, at the younger age of five years.

In the history timeline, there are but some admirers of Almighty who have attained a supreme layer of spirituality in such a soft age, as Guru Har Krishan Sahib did. Despite his younger age time, Guru Sahib utilized to charm the hearts of his followers by his commentaries on the movement from the Holy Scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. He reminded individuals to cherish One God alone, asking them to throw away passions and absorb the virtues of love, patience, and charity.

During the 1663 year, when Guru Krishan Sahib was there in Delhi, a swear epidemic of smallpox and cholera broke out. The seven-year-old Krishan Sahib attended to and served the suffering individuals with whole devotion. By his poise, the lake at Bangla Sahib offered a cure for lakhs of human figures. In the procedure of caring for the unhealthy, the Krishan Sahib was himself grabbed by higher fever and a strike of smallpox, in due course passing away on 1664, aged just eight years. The Krishan Sahib craved that no one mourns his death, rather ordering the Sikhs to sing religious songs from the Gurbani. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib(The Tenth Nanak), later paid tribute to Krishan Sahib.

Before passing away, when Krishan Sahib was questioned on his heir, he solely exclaimed “Baba Bakala Ji”, thus directing Sikhs to village Bakala close by river Beas in the Punjab province, the place of the next Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib.

Sri Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji is also familiar with Bal Guru (Child Guru). Krishan Sahib is remembered in Sikh tradition for saying “Baba Bakale” before he died. He had the tiny rule as Guru, which lasted only for a few time intervals.

One of the most popular Gurdwaras of Sikhs in Northern India, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib was at that time the residence (bungalow) of Raja Jai Singh of Delhi as he sweetly requested the Krishan Sahib to come to Delhi, so that he and the Guru’s Sikhs may behold him.

Because of his younger age, the Raja’s wife too needed to test out his spiritual powers. Disguise herself as a maid, she sat among the lady attendants. However, the Guru immediately identify her and sat on her lap, showing, “This is the Rani”, thereby convincing her of his spiritual powers.

It was during Guru’s stay here that a deadly disease had spread. When individuals learned of his presence there, they went to him for protection and shelter. Har Krishan Ji asked them to bathe in the well (for recovering) in the Bangla to cure themselves.
