Miracle of gurdwara Bharola Sahib: The unending blessings of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji

Nestled in the village of Ghuhani (Ludhiana), Gurdwara Bharola Sahib stands as a living testament to one of Sikh history’s most extraordinary miracles—a divine bharola (storage vessel) that overflowed with grains for 180 years by the grace of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.

Miracle of Bharola

The Miracle of the Ever-Full Bharola

During Guru Ji’s return from Gwalior Fort after liberating 52 imprisoned kings, he stayed at the home of Baba Surtiya Ji Marwaha, a devout follower. When the household faced a food shortage, the Guru:

  • Filled a simple bharola with a handful of wheat and lentils—then blessed it with the words: “This vessel shall never empty, but do not lift its lid.”
  • For five generations, the family’s langar thrived as grains miraculously replenished daily, feeding countless devotees.

The Blessing’s End: A Lesson in Faith

The miracle lasted until a curious new daughter-in-law lifted the lid—breaking Guru Ji’s condition. Instantly, the flow of grains ceased, marking the end of a 180-year divine provision.

A Sacred Legacy

Today, the Gurdwara preserves:

  • The original bharola as a relic of Guru Ji’s boundless grace.
  • The story as a reminder that faith sustains more than food—it nourishes the soul.

“Guru’s blessings are infinite, but humility keeps them flowing.” 🌾🙏
